This page covers the town of Sant Joan d’Alacant, known in Spanish as San Juan de Alicante. It lies about two kilometres inland from the coast.

The town has an old centre, streets of family homes and a ring of chalets and townhouses in the former farmland known as La Huerta. The coastal district of Benimagrell also belongs to it.
Family homes in good condition
Most homes here were built between the 1970s and the 2000s: low blocks in the centre, townhouses and detached chalets in La Huerta and Fabraquer. On the whole they are in good condition.
So the job is usually an upgrade, not an emergency. The windows still work, but the house gets too hot.
In the old centre there are also traditional houses with small windows and timber shutters. Little glazing needs changing, the wall already insulates, and the difference shows in the first summer.
