Replacing your windows in Spain while you live abroad
You do not need to be in Spain. A person with your keys lets us in for the site survey and the fitting. You agree everything else with Eduardo in English on WhatsApp.

The short answer
Can the whole job be done while I am away?
Yes. Tu Ventana Costa Blanca, the Benidorm office of Tu Ventana Madrid, replaces windows on the Costa Blanca for owners who live in the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, the Netherlands and elsewhere. A key holder gives access for the in-person survey and the fitting. Eduardo explains the written quote in English on WhatsApp, and replies within 24 hours.
Two steps need someone at the property: the site survey and the fitting. Neither of them needs to be you. Everything else, from the first question to accepting the quote, can be done from home.
The process, step by step
This is the order in which things happen. The only two steps that need access to the property are the survey and the fitting.

Tell us about the property
Send the form with your town, the windows you want to replace and your mobile number. Eduardo replies on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and you can send him photos there.

Choose your key holder
Decide who will open the door: family, a neighbour, your property manager, your estate agent or the building’s concierge. We need their name and a direct phone number.

In-person site survey
We measure every opening at the property, with your key holder present. We also note which way each façade faces, because that decides the glass.

Your written quote, explained in English
The quote lists the profile, glass, hardware and VAT for each window, with the final price and the payment terms. Eduardo goes through it with you on WhatsApp, or on a video call, until everything is clear.

Accept in writing and agree the dates
When you accept, we agree the fitting dates with you and your key holder. Your windows are then made to measure, which takes 3 to 5 weeks.

Fitting
Your key holder lets our own fitters in. Windows are replaced one opening at a time, and no opening is left open overnight. You get photos of each stage on WhatsApp.

Hand-over and after-sales
The finished job is handed over to you or to the person you have authorised in writing. Later questions and adjustments are handled in English on WhatsApp.

The fitting date is agreed in writing when you accept the quote.
What your key holder does
Your key holder opens the property on the survey day and on the fitting days. That is all we need from them, but we need it on the agreed dates.
It helps to decide two more things in advance, in writing. First, who can check the finished job and accept it on your behalf. Second, who will open the door if an adjustment is needed before you are back.

What to prepare before the survey
A little preparation saves a second visit. Before the survey date, try to have these ready:
- The key holder’s name and direct phone number, and the dates they are available.
- Your community of owners’ rules on works: permitted dates, noise hours and lift use. The community administrator can tell you.
- Any agreement on the building’s façade, such as a required frame colour or shutter model.
- Any deadline that matters to you, such as the start of the rental season.
- Photos of each window from inside and outside, if you can get them. They help us prepare, although we still measure in person.
- For the fitting: about 1.5 metres clear in front of each window, with curtains and anything on the sills removed.
When to do it: the calendar for UK and EU owners
The easiest months for works on this coast are usually October to May. In July and August blocks are full, lifts are busy and some communities of owners do not allow works at all.
British owners. Since Brexit, UK citizens are third-country nationals in the Schengen area. Under Regulation (EU) 2016/399, article 6.1, they can stay for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
That limit does not apply to UK citizens with a Spanish residence permit or a long-stay visa. If it applies to you, plan the survey and fitting so that neither depends on you being here.
EU and EEA owners have no 90/180 limit, and that includes Norwegians, Swedes, Danes and Finns. If you spend the winter here, you can attend the survey in person and see the job finished before you leave.

How the price and payments are agreed
The price we give is the final price with VAT included. The quote states the VAT rate applied: 21 % by default, and 10 % only when the legal conditions are met.

How long it takes
The time from first contact to fitting depends on two things. One is when your key holder can open the property; the other is how long your windows take to make. Most of the waiting is manufacture, because every window is made to measure.
Special colours and less common glass take longer to make. If you have a deadline, say so before you accept the quote, so the dates can be planned backwards from it. The fitting date is then agreed in writing.

Questions from owners who live abroad
I live in the UK and own an apartment on the Costa Blanca. How do I get new windows fitted?
Send us the form, choose someone to hold your keys, and let us survey the property in person. Eduardo then explains the written quote in English on WhatsApp. Your key holder lets us in to fit the windows, and you do not need to travel.
Can the whole job be handled remotely?
Almost all of it. Questions, the quote and your acceptance can all be done from home. The survey and the fitting happen at the property, but your key holder can attend instead of you.
Can you measure from photos or measurements I send?
No. Photos help us prepare, but we always measure in person. Openings here are rarely square, and a price based on someone else’s measurements tends to change later.
Can my property manager or estate agent hold the keys?
Yes. Any adult you authorise can do it: family, a neighbour, a property manager, an estate agent or a concierge. We just need their name, a direct phone number and the dates they can open.
Do I need to come to Spain to sign?
No. You accept the quote in writing from wherever you are. Read the payment terms in the quote first, and ask Eduardo about anything you are unsure of.
I rent out my villa as a holiday let. When should I replace the windows?
At the end of the season. Book the survey before the last guests leave, so the windows can be made and fitted while the villa is empty. That way you lose no bookings and nobody is rushed.
What happens if something needs adjusting after I have gone home?
Tell Eduardo on WhatsApp, in English. Your key holder gives us access, so you do not need to fly over. The job is covered by the 3-year legal guarantee of conformity.
Does my community of owners need to approve new windows?
It depends on the building. Replacing windows in the same opening is often simple, but changing the look of the façade usually needs the community’s agreement. Ask your community administrator before the survey.
