How a window quote is worked out in Spain
There is no fixed price per window. The price depends on your openings, the profile system, the glass, the shutters and the access. A good quote lists all of it in writing, with VAT included.

How much do new windows cost in Spain? There is no single figure. The price depends on the number, size and type of openings, the profile system, the glass for each orientation, shutter boxes, removal and access. So we measure on site and give a free written quote, with VAT included.
What moves the price of new windows
These are the factors that make two quotes for the same home look very different. None of them can be judged well from a phone call.

No line has a fixed figure. Each one changes with the real size of each opening and the state of the subframe, which is why we always measure first.
Why a window price needs a site survey
A price given without a site survey is almost always wrong. It usually goes up at the end, and that is the thing clients rightly dislike most.
Two honest quotes for the same opening can differ a lot. The glass and the profile system move the price most. Then come the type of opening, the finish, the shutter box, the building work and the access.
On a villa, one large sliding door to the terrace can take a big share of the total. Decide that opening first, with its glass and mechanism, and fit the rest of the budget around it.
So the honest answer is: send us the basics and ask for a free quote. Photos help us prepare the visit, but they do not replace the survey.
What a good written quote must list
If it is not written down, it is not included, whatever was said during the visit. Use this list to put three quotes side by side.
- The size of every opening, one by one.
- The profile manufacturer and the full name of the system. Not just "top-quality uPVC".
- The glass make-up with thicknesses, cavity and gas, for example 4/16/4 low-E glass with argon.
- The Uw of the whole window, and the g-value of the glass on openings that get midday or afternoon sun.
- The hardware brand and the number of locking points. Near the sea, its corrosion resistance.
- Whether the shutter box is included, and what type it is.
- Removal of the old windows and the rubble.
- How the joint between frame and wall is sealed, and with how many barriers.
- The lead time, and the weeks when work is allowed in your building.
- The guarantees, one by one: profile, glass, hardware and installation.
- The final price with VAT included, and the VAT rate applied.
A quote with no profile brand and no glass make-up is not a cheap quote. It is a quote that cannot be compared.
The final price must include VAT
In Spain, an offer to a consumer that gives a price must show the full final price, including taxes. This is article 20.1 of the Spanish consumer protection law (TRLGDCU).
A total without VAT, presented as if it had it, is one of the most common problems when people compare quotes. Always check which figure includes VAT.

The quote states the VAT rate applied: 21 % by default, and 10 % only when the legal conditions are met. It gives no advice on whether you qualify.
Which VAT rate appears on the quote
The standard VAT rate in Spain is 21 % (article 90 of the Spanish VAT law, Ley 37/1992). This is the rate we apply by default.
The law allows a reduced rate of 10 % for renovation and repair work on homes. It applies only when all the conditions of article 91.Uno.2.10º are met:
The client is a private individual, not acting as a business or professional, and uses the home privately. The rate can also apply when the client is a community of owners.
The construction or last renovation of the home finished at least two years before the work starts.
The materials supplied by the contractor cost no more than 40 % of the taxable base of the job.
We do not advise on whether you qualify. That depends on your situation, so check it with a tax adviser. The rate we apply is always written on the quote.
Warning signs in a quote that looks too cheap
A lower price is not always a bad price. But when one quote is far below the others, the saving is usually in something you cannot see on the day of fitting.
Look for a profile with no identifiable manufacturer, or large sashes with no steel reinforcement. Look also for basic hardware, glass without low-E coating, and sealing with only foam and silicone.
Also check whether the old shutter box stays in place without anyone mentioning it, and whether the total really includes VAT.
