Lift and slide doors in Alicante and Cabo de las Huertas
In Alicante and around Cabo de las Huertas the sea is close and the sun is generous, with Tabarca on the horizon on clear days. A large sliding door lets you live between the room and the terrace.

Sun on the terrace most of the year, the door open to the sea air, the bay and the castle in view. With the right glass, the room stays cool even with a wall of glass.
What you enjoy here
The bay of Alicante
The cape, the bay and the Santa Bárbara castle on its hill, framed by one wide pane.
Light most of the year
The city observatory records 2,851 hours of sun a year. The terrace is used in every season.
Autumn storms
September and October are the wettest months. The threshold must keep water out on those days.

The models, simply put
Three ways to bring the view into the living room. All made to measure with Kömmerling profiles and installed by our own team.
Kömmerling PremiDoor 76 AluClip and PremiDoor 76 Lux AluClipAlu-clad lift and slide door
What it is. A wall of glass that slides open to the terrace, with aluminium outside and uPVC inside. From the garden you see aluminium in the colour of the façade; from the sofa, a warm frame around the sea.
6.00 × 2.40 mMaximum size of one door (19 ft 8 in × 7 ft 10 in), the same in any outside colour
Kömmerling PremiDoor 76 and PremiDoor 76 LuxuPVC lift and slide door
What it is. The same lift and slide door, all in uPVC: white or with a colour foil. Open, it leaves the widest view of the line; closed, the glass panel drops onto its rubber seals and the room goes quiet.
6.5 mMaximum width in white (21 ft 4 in), in up to four sliding panels of up to 400 kg each
Kömmerling AluNext AD and MD, and AluClip ZeroAlu-clad windows and fixed lights
What it is. Windows that open on hinges and floor-to-ceiling panes that do not open, with the same aluminium outside and the same uPVC inside as the door. The view carries on from room to room.
9AWatertightness: the highest numbered class of the standard that tests wind-driven rain

How we work in Alicante
At the survey we measure every opening and note which way each façade faces. In this light, the glass matters as much as the frame. We also check how the terrace drains. The threshold and autumn rain.
In Alicante, replacing windows goes through a minor works notice (form 19.1), and we confirm the exact documents with the city hall. In a block, the community must be told first. Each door is made to measure with Kömmerling profiles and installed by our own team. If you are abroad, a key holder lets us in and you follow the job through photos. Our Alicante area page.
Technical advice for interior design studios and architects
When a studio is behind the project, we work with it from the drawings: which system fits each opening, with which sightlines and which data-sheet figures, each with its test conditions, ready for the specification or the client.
Opening by opening
Lift and slide, alu-clad or uPVC, with the number of panels and the glass for that façade.
Sightlines in mm
Every junction measured, no “minimal” where it does not apply.
Data sheets with tests
Official Kömmerling data sheets linked, and a performance table per system.
Coordinated works
With property managers and key holders, and a handover photo report for the owner.
Questions about lift and slide doors in Alicante
Which glass suits a large sliding door in Alicante?
With 2,851 hours of sun a year at the city observatory, the main choice is the solar factor (g) of the glass, chosen by the orientation of each façade. Triple glazing rarely pays on this coast. The building code also asks for laminated or toughened glass in doors (DB-SUA 2). We list the glass for each opening in the written quote.
Will a lift and slide door keep out an autumn storm in Alicante?
September and October are the wettest months, and the city’s record for one day is 270.2 l/m². The uPVC PremiDoor 76 reaches water class 9A on the Spanish data sheet, the highest numbered class, though the class can vary with size. Kömmerling publishes no water class for the alu-clad version. The threshold and your terrace drainage matter as much.
Do I need a permit in Alicante?
Under the Valencian planning law (TRLOTUP, article 233), works that change the outside appearance of a building usually go by a declaración responsable, a works notice filed with the town hall. If a wider opening touches the structure, the notice needs a certificate from a professional body as well. Listed buildings need a full licence. Replacing windows in Alicante goes through the city hall’s minor works notice for homes (form 19.1), and we confirm the exact documents with the city hall. An opening that touches a load-bearing wall needs a certified project, and scaffolding on the street needs a licence.
Lift and slide doors in other areas
Each area asks for something different: height, wind, salt air or a holiday home.
